Just had an almost new set of OEM shocks and springs from a 20K miler B5 RS4 fitted to my car, and wow, what a difference.

I did this as a bit of an experiment to compare my 95K mile kit with the lower mileage one, and I'm pleasantly surprised at the difference. I suspected that although I had 2 broken springs, the OEM springs and shocks were getting 'tired', but I didnt want to compromise the overall daily usability of the car with PSS9's or KW's, so I'm happy as it now feels a lot less spongier, and crashy over bumps and dips\holes in the road, as well as stabler at higher speeds, as I'd expect. I also got the front suspension top mounts replaced as they had seen better days as well.

Grizz recommended getting stiffer ARB's fitted to dial out the body-roll on the standard configuration, without making the suspension stiffer, but I don't track my car, so maybe, but I doubt it.

Glad it's worked out ok for you Grant, i'm in 2 minds regarding the ARBs as I don't track mine either...

Wish I'd done the ARBs before the Bilstein, so I could see how much of a difference they really make

Good to know the new(er) OEM suspension worked out well though. How much for a new setup?

my suspension is very tired however since getting the hotchkis things have tightened up no end. i'm now in two minds as to whether or not to even bother with aftermarket suspension and just get oem again.

Unless you want to change the ride height, easier/cheaper to keep standard surely?

What should new OEM springs cost?

Just ordered new OEM springs and shocks from my local stealer and got a 10% discount so all for less than £750 which I was happy with - Now just need to decide who I get to fit it.

Hopefully I will be able to sell the parts I am removing and offset some of the cost...!

I was quoted £86 for front springs at Glasgow Audi, dunno if the backs are cheaper.
