scared to go far with only the can of goo & compressor!

ok, ill keep in touch. If i dont get one by then maybe you could bring it with you & we could meet somewhere?
Hardly worth posting a wheel, probably cost more than you want for it! (I hope!)
Seriously tho, i might well be interested.

cheers,
simon

I only need one as a spare. Are you willing to sell me one?
How much?

Does anyone know if a standard A4 or A6 wheel will fit? Even a steel one will do as a spare.

You need an 18" wheel to clear the front discs! Also the offset of the RS4 is unusual, so you can't fit too many other VAG wheels. I think the only other one that fits is the RS6 5-spoke (but please check beforehand).

If you want to fit it in the boot, you know that it doesn't drop straight in?? You need to modify the boot area slightly (the lip at the back needs cutting away) and the boot carpet will sit slightly higher due to the width of the alloy. I kept mine in the garage to be used in case I needed to get a tyre / wheel replaced, but never used it (thankfully!).

I have a spare alloy, but am even further South!

My OEM spare 18 x 8.5 dropped straight in the boot with a bit of wiggling but then it does have any unusual brand of tyre on it (but still 255/35/18 ). I couldn't get it to fit with a Goodyear Assymetric of the same size tho - odd!

nige, is there not a specific winter wheel which fits snug in the wheel compartment?

Hi Nige,
I have read only RS4 wheels will fit front ( especially in my case with the B7 brakes!) however isnt there much more clearance at the rear?
If I had a puncture on front, I could swap a rear & then fit spare to rear?
Im just thinking costs here! Dont really want to shell out a lot on a genuine Rs4 alloy just to have it sit in the boot if a A4 steel would do as a "get me home"

I thought it was a winter wheel off an A6 though?? Unless there was an option for the RS4 on the continent??

Not sure on that front, however what I will say is that finding a steel wheel of the same rolling radius (remember to make sure it IS the same radius or you will have problem with your diffs) will not be easy or cheap.

I was selling my spare with a tyre for £50, so I doubt you'd be able to buy a genuine steel spare for less than that??
