MPG on motorway

Perspective owner here, just doing some research at the moment. I'm interested in what MPG I would likely to get travelling at the NSL on the motorway. I travel quite a distance to work each day (40 miles each way) which is why I'm interested to know what MPG people tend to get in the real world vs the claimed.
Thanks
Paul

don't want to sound rude however, when buying a car like this mpg is the last thing you should be thinking of and no matter how careful you are with the loud pedal you can never get away from giving it the occassional blip which will normally take over for the rest of the journey!
however, sticking to 60/65/70 i've seen the DIS displaying 33mpg which aint bad!

That's perfectly okay and I can understand your perspective. I'm just factoring in the total cost of ownership, it's not as if I'm buying it to sit in a garage and the number of miles I do, makes the motorway MPG a figure I want to understand if the published figures are not realistic. It's not a deal breaker over buying a car, but just a bit of due diligence.
Thanks for the reply and info!

the best i've ever had from a full tank which cost me about 56 to fill up was 290miles.........! i think if you are only doing motorway miles thne you should achieve more than this.

i run a standard b5 s4 and have never seen better than 25-26 mpg combined (motorway and town) i dont drive that slow though

,the s4 is in the process of ko4 conversion and i am expecting 20-22 mpg on the motorway and single figures when the loud pedal is applied

Driving miss Daisy - 280 - 300 miles on a tank (+/- 53L at each fill up).

Yep 300 miles on a full tank of SUL us what I've seen best case.
Worst case is probably under 100 miles!!!

Best I've ever seen is 28mpg (steady 70mph for several hours). Typically 25mpg on a long run. Don't forget the extra cost of higher octane fuel.

regarding your journey - i think the maximum range of our tanks is about 350miles so how the heck did you manage that?

I'm afraid when you've got this much power under foot, the temptation to squeeze the throttle is just too much for any man... apart from Stigter.
