Water in the battery compartment won't drain

Post by Brisel » Sun Jun 28, 2009 10:33 pm

Like the title says!

I washed the car this morning & noticed that the water in the battery compartment area wasn't draining away. It seemed to be holding a couple of gallons & I'm sure it won't be doing anything much good lying there.

Are there some drain hoses around there? If so, where are they please? I don't want to take the whole lot apart if possible - changing the battery last winter was a nightmare because half the screws are rounded off.

Thanks in advance

One of them is underneath the battery. I think the other is over by the ECU box.

Yep best to remove the battery, and then the battery tray too, as it's right underneath it.

Other one is near the brake master cylinder.

Best to take them out, and chop off the ends.

How do you get to the one near the master brake cylinder? I couldn't find it at all. Flushing did nothing at all.

Flushing won't do nothing at all, and you'll realise why when you remove them!

You will have to get your hand under there, and just unblock it with your hand.

You were right! It was a very crappy job!

I spent 1 1/2 hrs taking it all apart, cleaning it, shortening the rubber hoses & reassembling it all. The compartment was full of sycamore leaves.

Works fine now, so thanks for your help

The bonnet bra is pretty useless - the fabric doesn't really cover much!

It took me 2 hours of searching Google Images to find that one...

I'd post the full size version if I only knew how to upload a pic to this post
