I need to replace discs both front and rear along with front pads (the rear pads are ok). The cheapest quote I've had so far including fitting is £ 1255 for OEM AUDI replacement parts!!

Apart from the B7 upgrade and factoring in costs, what would be my most economical solution here? There's no room for skimming the discs either, so that's out.

Does anyone in the group have good condition discs front and back discs they would like to shift my way for the right ££.

I was quoted $270 AUS each for DBA B5 RS4 slotted discs in 4000 series from Race Brakes Sydney.

They are one piece but still excelent value at approx £135 a side and well worth considering for normal road use if you are on a budget. Given they are one piece you can always machine them down the track and so they should last longer.

I think DBA also ship international though I'd expect postage will add another £50 or so.

I think there are some UK sites selling these as well but probably cost more.


For pads, raceshopper is the cheapest place I've found for Ferodo DS2500 pads at $312 US for a complete set of B7 RS4 front pads. Should be cheaper again for the B5 pad set.

Hi, I would get some B7 8 pot calipers £500 ish 2nd hand or about £750 new, then some B7 discs for £450 (PW Motorsport)a pair and I can supply B7 pads for £79.00 (I got a number of sets at the right price and put them on ebay as a buy it now!) so total price is £1000 - £1250 but then you will get to sell you old calipers discs and pads for at least £200 even if they are worn as they are a popular upgrade for lesser Audi / VWs.

So it will work out a bit cheaper if you source the parts carefully and you get much better brakes!

That is what I did anyway.

I think it all depends on how you drive your car. If you use it (or intend to use it) on a track then maybe you ought to consider an upgrade. If foe purely road use then stick with the OEM stuff. Rememebr, if you go with an upgraded system the pads and disks will cost more each time you need to change them (as compared with the stock brakes).

I'#m sure you can source the OEM discs and pads cheaper than that - shame VAGPARTS has gone, how about GSF?

Don, I thought the DBA brakes were a two piece item, so all you had to do was repalce the rotor when they wore out, rather than the whole disc? I looked at these as an option for my car, but they don't do anything for the RS6+ brake system!

If you are not going to the track frequently, I would stick with the OEM stuff. Pads can usually be bought cheaper in the US.

You can't change the discs and not the pads. You'll never get full efficiency as they will have worn to fit your current discs..

The 4000 series in DBA are a one piece disc. The DBA 5000 series are two piece with alumiinium hat, a very nice disc but don't think they are available for the RS4.

Guys, thanks for the tips on the discs from DBA. I've sent an inquiry off to them and hopefully I can get a number for the Clark Motor sport lot in Scotland. I'm off on holiday shortly, so could order these and get them put on when I get back...

My rear discs are shot too, do you recommend I just get the OEM parts for these or do DBA also do them?
