SOMETHING LOOSE AT THE BACK .IDEAS PLEASE

Post by 2dogsjohn » Sun Jun 07, 2009 8:51 pm

over the space of a couple of weeks a definate knocking has apeared from the back.whenever the car goes over a bump in the road ,theres a clunk like something is loose ,maybe a bush or subframe mount .i dont think it the suspesion cause if you go over a speed bump fo example at speed its fine .only when the car is shaken if you like. i have been under the car nothing obvious but dont realy know where to look and how to test it . it could be something much simpler has anyone got any ideas as it does see to be getting worse. :?: :(

Sounds like the drop links. Common fault.

They are known to wear. Best to replace them with the RS2 ones. Not dear to do.

It could also be a rear ARB bush.

drop link i reckon too. i had one go and it made the same noise. try wiggling the arb at either side with either both wheels off the ground or both wheels on the ground but not jacked up at one side

RS2 ones are metal instead of the stock plastic items
