FMIC - Do I really need to live with no AC fan then?

Post by Sql_RS4 » Fri May 22, 2009 12:52 pm

I would like to replace my SMICs with an FMIC - especialy now that one is leaking some oil.

But I would like to know what can be done to keep the AC fan - I would not like to have problems with AC in traffic.

Also how about oil cooler?

Thanks in advance.

SMIC's can't leake oil, because there is only going air in and out.
The oil comes from the turbo's i guess, and it is no problem, when its a little bit of oil
Clean the SMIC's and lower hoses, 2 or 3 times a year.

I also found a little bit of oil in my Y-Pipe and my friend from US who is an S4 Maniac said that it must be something totally wrong because there should be absolutely no oil showing in Y-Pipe - but I think I have read somewhere that it is normal with our engines. Isn't it?

Oh and BTW - it turned out to be messed up clip for oil cooler hose that had a leak.

Oil in the Y-pipe is nothing to worry about.

you cant do a fmic conversion without losing the ac fan, doesnt really matter unless you are sitting in a que of traffic in 40 oC heat in somewhere like spain, turkey or greece etc,..
