This is a common problem on the B5 RS4! I replaced mine last year when it started weeping oil.

You shouldn't need a new oil cooler, just a new return pipe - they are around £110 each.

Everyone go and check yours tonight!

Yep one of the first things I did to mine when I bought it. Was corroded on the oil cooler side, which is common.

quattrokid.....MOT wouldn't really be an issue for this pipe.

And also you'd only see this once the engine undertray has been removed.

No engine or gearbox to take out! Just remove the undertray, and check the pipe on the RHS of the oil cooler for any corrosion. Infact all the pipes to the oil cooler, both cooler side, and oil filter housing side.

Part No as follow if anyone's interested:

W8DO317815L SUPPLY
W8DO317815M RETURN

Easier to take off front bumper gives full access to couplings - can be tricky to remove due to galvanic corrosion between alloy oil cooler connection and steel coupling takes few hours - I then greased the connctions on replacement. They corrode from crimp coupling connection on pipe back to coupling bolt due to being exposed to road salt etc - definately worth checking yours from underneath.
