Aluminium roof rail cleaning/care

Has anyone got any tips on keeping the aluminium roof rails, mirrors etc in good condition?

From certain angles in certain light I can see what I assume are water marks.

I've only ever leathered mine off after cleaning but wondered if there are any products you've used and would recommend?

I just polish them with autoglym when i do the bodywork seems to keep em tip top
