Was the B5 RS4 produced in purple / mauve? I can't remember ever seeing one in such a colour?

I only ask as I'm having some HPI fun and games at the moment - car I'm scheduled to pick up this Friday is sliver with zero signs of any colour changes; HPI report tells me that the original colour is purple / mauve?

V confusing? I really don't think that I've ever seen one in purple? RS2 yes but the Rs4?

Just wondering what you guys think to this; before I call the dealer!!

Think the 'Avus' colour is reffered to as Mauve sometimes, when I was searching for an RS4 saw a couple with Mauve written on the log books, mine states silver however...

I have seen one in Audi Berry on 2 occasions at ADI, I don't think it has ever been washed, absolutely filthy.....

There is a proper purple one in the Autocar RS4 feature scanned elsewhere in this forum BUT oddly yes Avus is down as purple or mauve on logbooks.

Merlin Purple was a colour yes, presumably not a standard RS colour but part of the Audi individual pain colour etc....

Can't for the life of me figure out why or how Avus silver then becomes mauve/purple? But glad that it seems to be the norm. Thanks all for the replies

Apparently the Avus has a Purple or Mauve base coat, hence giving it a slight purple tint under different lighting
