Updated pics of my B5 RS with... a few new additions

Post by N11LS_J » Sun Mar 22, 2009 1:31 am

My RS has been under wraps for a while, getting a few bits done.

I wanted to upgrade/enhance the car, whilst keeping with OEM look.
Think i've managed to achieve this and I must say am very pleased with the results.

I may be the first lucky person to get my hands on a set of mint and original C6 RS6 wheels.

Took a few pics tonight, here is the end product...

Wheels are also now sitting over B7 brakes all round.

In addition to this I finally got my Pioneer Double Din unit fitted, with a custom facia panel. I know a few of you requested detailed photo's of the install, but as the fitting was carried out by a 3rd party installer, pics were not possible.

Again, to keep this looking 'factory', the facia was finished in Piano Black, to tie in with the rest of the interior trim.

Whilst getting the facia plate done in Piano, I decided to go all out and get the AC control unit in same finish, got rid of the punched leather on the gearknob and replaced this with Piano and finally had the steering wheel retrimmed in leather and top half sculpted in Piano.

The finish is absolutely awesome, great feel on the gearknob and steering wheel, and IMO looks better than OEM finish!!!

(Apologies for the quality of the interior pics)

Cheers Jimbo, yeah had the Piano Black work done via Virdee's contact, wheels suit the RS perfectly, think i may have finally cracked it!!!

Re the mats, ignore those hideous mats in the pics, those rubber jobbies are ideal for collecting grim etc from my work place, the decent mats are underneath

Looking back at the photo's I think maybe i should have spent some time cleaning the interior, however i was all detailed out on the exterior, so the interior will have to wait for another day!

That does look stunning!! have you lowered it or do the larger wheels just fill the arches?

Gurjinder, I know I need to clean the interior, no time, may have to bring it round to yours!

Car is sitting on Bilstein PSS9s, sitting just right, and very comfortable I must say, surprisingly even better on the 19s.

Mike, thanks mate, yep we both knew they would look perfect on the B5

Hmmmm, no idea, i just requested that they remove the punched leather and retrim to match the gearknob gaiter, looks quite smart now.

Rick, the wheels are off the RS6 C6, 9 x 19s ET 29, think they are standards on the RS6, and the 20s are an optional extra

thanks for all comments guys
