..for checking his database to see if a car I am interested that has been rumoured to be qst/MTM modified has actually been there.
This is the 2nd time he's done this for me and has always replied promptly even though we have never met/spoken nor have I put any business his way.

hmm I did have an encounter with Kim last week didnt really leave me with a good impression of himself, also emailed him about the S3 they built(twice) he didnt bother getting back. The quality of their products is excellent but sometimes I dont think the customer service is up to a high standard the way they could maintain it, but im pretty sure he is a top guy.

Let's not turn this into a QST slagging contest - all I wanted to say was that I send plenty of emails of to businesses and never hear anything back, even businesses I do spend money with.
I'm sure Kim is a busy chap but he still replied personally and promptly though no doubt there will be occasions when he's too busy especially if your request is complex or doesn't provide enough info.
As for quality of work, there are plenty of existing threads elsewhere.

I'm sure I saw your old car at MRC – did it have leather or Hi-Tec seats?? Loved the colour!

Yes i was very pleased with the quality of the work that was carried out to my car by QST, they are generally a very professional outfit and were very helpful when they carried out a 458bhp conversion for me.

Having said that shortly after spending around £7000 there i phoned to ask for the paint code for the brand new MTM titanium wheels i had bought from them(needed purely in case of touch up) and was told i couldnt have it and that if i mark the alloys they have to be sent to their refurb company - 200 miles from me. And no, i wasnt allowed their details either. That left a sour taste.

There is a red one with 55k on PH for 19495, the owned took £3k off on anothe forum's classifieds. However it's lowered (too low as standard IMHO) and I just don't like it.

That's not mine! Mine was Hi-Tec. That one is X*** EJB and is indeed the same colour if you mean the Denim Blue one that needs an engine rebuild - that one was last sold by Nick Johnson in 2007, still has his name on the plates.
