b5 rs4 v 996 turbo

i have a b5 rs4 running 447 brake my mate has a 996 turbo standard 420 bhp, do you think i have a chance guys, because i know pretty soon i will see him at the lights

yep, you should beat him IMO. I have had a few "tussles" with the 996TT and always come on top.

I also test drove one a while back and was not impressed. Great looking car, but just not quick enough in standard form. Now the X50 is a different kettle of fish, especially one that has been breathed on....

You should have the edge on the straights but if he can drive he will get away in the tight n twisty stuff

I would have thought the Porsche might have the edge. How do the cars compare weight and torque wise.

The previous owner of my rs4 bought a 996t and met me at the audi dealership when i picked it up,we went for a blast while i was waiting he had allready fitted a tubisport system but was genuinley gutted as the rs felt quicker when we went out in that shortly afterwards,to be fair the rs is 450-460bhp i dont think a standard rs would stand a chance though,he had big plans for the porker though and i wouldnt like to come up against that particular one

You will have to work the RS4 more but it should pull away. Try side by side in 6th at around 50 or 60 mph and watch the Porsche just walk away from you though. Got way more low down grunt.
