Thinking of moving to a b7
Thinking of moving to a b7
Any guys here done it? For me the main attraction is a newer car,and better handling,im going to play safe and look for an 06 is example thats lost most of its money,i have yet to have a good long drive in one though to see if i can warrant jumping out of the b5,i know i will lose outright power and the loss of the shove in the back power delivery will kill me.Im sat on the fence regarding the change, both cars have good and badpoints and one i have to consider is the financial one,i could lose alot more in the b7,any thoughts or experiences will be apreciated
RE: Thinking of moving to a b7
I did it the other way and went from B7 to B5, the wrong way imo as the B7 as a drive is much better in terms of handling and just general ride quality. The cabin is great, the sports seats are a dream and the sound of the V8 in sports mode is just wonderful. I think the B5 in standard exhaust form doesn't sound purposeful enough and that's one thing I miss about the B7. I don't miss the residuals though and glad I got out as I would be in serious negative equity as the car was on finance and I couldn't afford to lose say 10k on it as I hadn't put a large deposit down on it.
The thing the B7 lacks though is the way it delivers the power, absolutely linear thanks to the FSI lump and it just doesn't seem as quick. Even with a remap they aren't too silly compared to a simple remap on a B5 which really unleashes the beast.
I reckon I will venture over to the otherside again one day if prices continue to drop like they do and also if fuel prices even out.
