Took the old girl to the track yesterday

Post by Rs4Fan » Sat Aug 30, 2008 11:34 am

It's been a year since I last took her on the track - 51k miles and still running absolutely flawless. I am always surprised:

- how heavy the car is and feels (which is tough on brakes and front tires)
- how useless the ESP is (need to switch it off on the track)
- how powerful the car still is in comparison to more modern M3s, etc.
- that's its always the only estate in the entire group
- that you can have a fun day at the track and still blend right back into regular traffic on the way home and take the kids to school the next morning

Saw a beautiful '08 S8 (V10) - very tempting but maybe too flashy.

Great fun isn't it? Now the bug has bitten, I guess you may be considering fitting bigger brakes and stiffer anti-roll bars?

Mark,

there is a good chance that my car will be for sale next year - I'll take good care of it for you until then.

Paul,

I was bitten by the bug a long time ago so I added a 997GT3 and an 964RSA track car to the stable. I won't get the RSA until October so the RS4 will need to hold me over. I was pretty much the slowest driver out there:
