Does anyone know what front fast road pads are available for the RS4 B5 running OEM disks / calipers ? Apart from the OEM pads that is....

If anyone has fitted Mintex M1144 or Ferodo DS2500's for instance and has the part numbers to hand I would be most grateful.

Internet searches have not come up with much tbh.

I'm in the same boat, have TRD's at the moment since I purchased the car (they were new on) and they're rubbish...

Ferodo DS2500's highly recommended by dace, who tracks his car - very good pad and very little brake dust... my next pads once my current ones have worn down.

Ferodo are the business. I can highly recommend them. No fade at all on road and track and they bite well from cold...

I finally managed to find the following Mintex ( M1144 compound ) code for stock RS4 B5 front brakes :

MDB1746

from Mintex own website - more details here :

Brake Pad Set, disc brake
Trade Numbers: 21484, 21485
Fitting Position: Front Axle
Width: 194,5 mm, Height: 73,5 mm, Thickness/Strength: 20,8 mm, Wear Warning Contact: Prepared for wear indicator, Brake System: Teves

Can anyone confirm that the pad dimensions quoted above are correct ?

( Mintex also quote Audi's OE part number as 8N0698151D - also used on the TT 3.2 / BMW Z8/750/740 amongst others )

Cheers

Do the Pagid's or Mintex have the trip-wire built in to turn off the Brake Pad Warning in the DIS?

Apparently EBC make pads that fit too - ' Red Stuff ' compound. Just under the £100 mark - which compares rather well with the standard OEM Audi stealers price of £183.60 :bash:

Dace stated above that the standard Audi pads are made by Pagid ? Be surprised as they seem to have little bite to me. Pagid have a good name in the Porsche fraternity....

My brake pad of choice would be Performance Friction. If only they made a pad for the stock RS4 B5 calipers.....they do make a pad for the RS4 B7 calipers though.
