Hello all of you!
I have some problems with esp switch. It works fine couple of days a go and now it´s dead. Abs and ECS or whatever light goes on when powering that system but that switch makes nothing when pressed. No 2 seconds or 20sek.
Had looked system with wag-com but changed nothing in there. So ESP is allways on. Is that switch really dead or what? Any ideas? Can i bypass it somehow to test it?
car is june 01 made if that makes any differense.
Thanks all for your efford on this issue!
And bofore any commands about those wheels they are only for winter tyres

Umm - Wag-Com - is that something about footballers wives / girlfriends?

Is the ESP light illuminated on the cluster - in normal non fault operation the traction control on setting will be reset when you turn the car off and on.
- If the light is remaining lit then it would indicate a fault with any of the contributing ESP items (normally ABS sensors) - but as you say if VAG-COM hasn't thrown up any faults then it's likely to be the switch.
To start with I would pop the switch out and using a multimeter test the connections in on / off with continuity to ensure the switch is working correctly.

There is a field in VAG COM measuring blocks somewhere that will change from ON to OFF when ESP button is pressed, could be in engine or ABS modules, or both, worth a check.
As well as R5 YUG's good advice, it could also be a loom issue so check the wiring hasn't been damaged betweem switch and ECU - probaby not easy I admit!
