Gearbox is out and stripped but the guy rebuilding it has found other bits that need doing ,but my problem is i dont want to order the other bits if they are already included in repair kit.The parts man at coventry audi was extremely helpful and even phoned germany trying to find out contents,he even faxed pictuers to my gearbox man so he could point out what he needed, but it was all in vain (big shout to rick cov audi )so i need help if anybody has bought this kit.

The link only shows you the first bit of the procedure, any idea on how to view the rest?

Guide looks good though.

Thanks Nige

mine was more than a slight whine it was almost the same as the noise made in reverse gear, and being under warranty i took full advantage of it.
speaking to kim collins at the time he said all forward gears should be silent.
actually looking at your location nick you are almost in my neck of the woods. Am based near wokingham

Why does the reverse gear make so much noise? I have driven about 5 or 6 RS4s and they all do it?

Kind Regards

Is Extended Audi warranty still available for our cars, being as old as they are? Or can you only extend it at the time standard/extended warranty is about to expire...

Its still available, but the extent of cover reduces year on year.

You therefore have to satisfy yourself the cover being offered is worth the cost.
