the alcantara wheel looks great brand new but is terrible once it has been used.

when you say 'terrible once used' how long are you talking about, months or years? I have the standard one without the buttons and it looks as good as it feels - nasty!

Heard these go horrid in a couple of weeks!

Thats why I had mine re-leathered with a thicker rim like the OEM Alcantara item, and also added carbon. Looks awesome and different.

Not so much a fan of the carbon - think it may look too much for me, but definately want to get it re-leathered with the punctured leather and possibly thickened; where did you get it done?? PM details if you wish...

Cheers

I have the same from eBay.
make sure you get the inner horn plate as if you don;t you will have ball ache finding an old RS4/TT wheel to bastardise and fit the airbag.

as for the wheel, yes they can get dirty if you have a lazy mechanic who doesn;t clean his hands. I used liquid leather cleaner (the orange gel stuff) yes I know its not leather but its works a treat and the feeling compared to shiny leather is much better, better on cold days and your hands never feel sweaty.
they look the bollox as well!

daily use for over 6 years will make it look worn. no matter how careful you are.
