What pressure setting should I set my turbo wastegates?

I am in the process of re-installing my turbos soon. I rebuilt my K04's by replacing the center sections so the wastegate rods have been moved.

What pressure setting should I set my turbo wastegates? TIA!

They should be set at 0.5 bar (7.25psi) from the factory

Some of the US guys have tried higher values, but you can run into problems with the actuator arm not having enough throw to fully open the wastegates. By this I mean if you screw the adjuster up to load the spring you then effectively shorten the total length of the throw, if you see what I mean?
They have tried as high as 10psi for some K04 hybrids I believe. The mechanical limit seems to be with the adjustment nut set to 10mm from the bottom of the adjustment rod starting at the 1st tread, and is about 10psi.

Adjust by pressurising the wastegate actuator with an accurate guage connected and seeing when the wastegate just cracks open. This can be done on or off the car.

What settings are folks running on the forum?, I am going to adjust mine tomorrow before putting them back in and just thought I would ask to see what others have done?

Cheers

I think most people just have it mapped and if necessary a stronger spring

Would you increase the pressure at which the wastegate opens to increase the airflow off boost?

I would have thought that as long as they are evenly matched, it shouldn't make any difference on boost as the N75 will provide the pressure to close the wastegate.

I agree, k04 housing is a known restriction thats the part that should be worked on. make sure you tell your mapper what you are planning so they can advise on its safety.

Damn for those European measurements versus other world and then Uk and other part of europe :)
How meny that bars or psi is that 8,5 lbs? I have Hybrid turbos with just center parts from RS6. Rest is regular K04 (26) i think. What should be setup for that and is right moment when it starts to open?
First bit of movement?
My set of new stuff are going in few weeks, depend when i get rest of the parts.

For The moment i can tell you that AVOID company called AUDSPEED becouse they did not send all stuff i ordered and they does not reply any Emails for few weeks. I hope all gonna go well but i fear not.
Work quality is not very "pretty" either.

every dealing we have had with audspeed has had issues - turbos going pop, chinese bearings, used turbos being sold as new....

The finish looks bad on those Audspeed turbos, I hope the internals are ok. In the first pic that wastegate actuator looks bent in a bit, if I were you I would straighten it a little.

You could remove and straighten that c shaped bracket in the second pic, but be careful with the bolts, they are not exactly metric size. You need to make a spanner by grinding out one that is too small to EXACTLY the right size, I found an imperial one that just fitted, then you can remove and replace the 2 bolts.

PSI is the same as lbs , and you can convert to BAR on the internet easily. I would stick with 8 Psi , its up to you.
The measurement is just as the wastegate opens.

hope this helps,

Cheers and good luck with the build.

They seems to be m6 (10mm) bolts. I have k04 turbos in my car now too, so i can use wastegates from there if needed. that locking plate on cold side in my other photo was installed wrong side up, thats why it does not fit. I have allready taken those to parts and checked that all is ok, bild quality is really poor!

How i can know that center section is actual kkk rs6 and not bad copy of that? Is it k28 or something?

They just need loads of work and they are selling those as new. Well, thats what i thougt to get but it was something else :!:
