I am thinking of getting the latest RNS-E system for my car. Which brought me to thinking about my mobile.

Is there anyway of using the RNS-E as a bluetooth hands free for the car?

Thanks in advance.

Nick

You need to buy the Bluetooth (BT) module for the RNS-E system Nick.
The OEM BT module is about £300 including loom and Mic though, so it makes a good quality earpeice look a cheaper option.
I'm waiting for my replacement RNS-E to arrive then I will be doing a 'how to' fitting guide.

I think the totally handsfree option depends on the phone.

I have a Samsung and its not totally handsfree, i.e. the phone book is not on the RNS-E. But apart from that, its all good.

the audi phone module / bluetooth functionality with rns-e is fantastic - worth the extra money compared to an aftermarket kit

there is a list of fully compatible phones at www.navplus.us - browse the forums - it also has full instructions on parts and retrofitting the bluetooth module and rns-e

see ebay or kufatec in germany for any parts, or craigyb offers a full supply/fit service in the north west

By the way does anyone know if the BT compatibility depends on the phone, i.e. if the phonebook on the RNS-E depends on the phone?
