Turbo temp and pressure gauge.

Post by nickelvery » Wed Oct 31, 2007 12:13 am

Hi everyone,

I have been looking at turbo gauges for my RS4 which I should be picking up on Thursday!!!! (Very excited)

I have always wanted turbo gauges like the RS2 used to have. I have found these and like the idea of having temp too. Just a little steep on price!!!

My question is how have people mounted them if at all and does anyone know of a cheaper option?

Thanks in advance.

Nick

I've seen the gauges mounted in the vents before, but this doesn't really do it for me, and using the A pillar isn't really an option because of the curtain air bags - What other options are available or have you been looking at?
I remember seeing something on the Rothe website a few years ago where they had made a custom interface for the FIS so that boost and oil temp could be displayed there.

Here's a link to the AWE vent gauges on the AmD site:

That's the one that I've got, it's in the middle central vent, and it does the job nicely. I've heard people say that the dial gauges are much easier to read at a glance than the digital one's, which I can well believe.

hhhmmmm. I have been thinking about installing one of these for a while now and am pretty sure that I would go down the dial route rather than a digital one.

How easy are these to install ? Anyone will to assist in an install for a couple of beers ???

Try to think over purchasing of a set of Defi Link Meters. I own these and I'm very pleased of them. I've installed them in the middle part of dashboard not to demolish any part of the car.
You can see how they look (black when turned off, when turned on red needles and white digits - similar as factory, you can adjust the brightness in 7 positions - it's important).

Cheers,
Tomasz

Do you have any piccies of these installed into your car ??

I like the idea of a factory style look and feel (red needles, white digits etc)

It was real easy Neil, I got Doug to do it :).

TBH, I think it takes about an hour and I don't think it's that difficult.

Here you go. Just to add, it's actually got the wrong coloured back-light, it's the one for the S4 as it's red. Doug's sending me the white one when he gets it through from AWE.

Can these be fitted on a temporary basis with a windscreen sucker. You only need them for track days.

Just a quick question, as the car has 2 turbos do you not need 2 gauges?
