RS6 v RS4

A friend is thinking of buying a low km 2004 RS6 with and APR chip (390kw approx).
Has anyone any got any useful information or comparisons between this and say a chipped RS4 (360kw).
Performance, reliability, resale, maintenance issues and sheer enjoyment factor.

i have bothe . it depends on what hes gonna use it for ? for long motoway jorneys or town driving the 6 is nicer "its easyer to drive being auto " but if he is after a car for having fun in then a well modded rs4 is the best choice .. there isnt much in it as far as pace " they bothe super rapid" to me the rs4 is the car that feels more special !! as jarv said tell him to get the rs4 !

the rs 4 sounds like a wet fart compaired to the rs 6 !

The RS4 still has a beautiful V6 sound.
just like a V10 doesnt sound as good as a V8, the V8 doesnt sound as good as a V6 for some.
I do like the V8,, but for me, it has to be the V6 all the way.
Eddy, you need to stay off those laxatives.

I think the RS4 feels more nimble in everyday use. If you want a noiser exhaust on the RS4 you an always use an after-market system. The otehr consideration might be price and age of the car. The RS4 B5's were made 1999-2001 whereas te RS6's are newer. The RS4's are cheaper to buy than the RS6's.

i dont think it matters what exaust you stick on the rs4 it still sounds wet compared to the rs6 !! but that dosnt meen the 6 is the better car ! even if they were the same price id still pick the rs4 . there is nothing on sale now at around £50 k that can take its place ! yes the b7 gets very good reviews where as the b5 didnt but with a few mods on the b5 rs4 you can have somthingvery special indeed that will blow the b7 rs4 and most other high end motors into the weeds !

Trust me , mine doesn't sound like a wet fart......With straight through down pipes (no cats) and Milltek back boxes. Sound like a giant fart a riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiipper!!!!!

You guys want to of heard the custom exhaust system MRC had on one of their tuned silver RS4's showing on youtube...
Brutal roar, monster speed!
Think the vid must have been deleted though, shame.
