Trackday tyres

Anyone tried YOKOHAMA A048 R 235/40R18 ?
Can they be swapped from left the right?

I think the Yoko's get eaten by an RS4.

DO1J can't be swapped from left to right. Anyone tried Dunlop DZ02G ?

DO1Js are directional. That means they are not marked with a direction arrow. The DZO2Gs are marked OUTSIDE so can ne swapped loeft to right.

A048's can't be swapped left to right (well, not without taking the off the rims) - if you look at the tread pattern it's pretty easy to see that they are designed to run one way specifically.
I had a set of wheels with them on but never got on track with them... I bought them from TarmacTerrorist who had run them on his RS4 at the ring and really rated them. I sold the set to FlashyG who I believe then sold them on again so not sure who has them now.
I run them on the Exige and really like them.

They say you can swap them from side to side but only for use in the in the dry.. I havent tryied it yet but I have a few sets of p/worns starting to pile up now so I may just give it a go and see what it does to the times on a dry track....(I run a lotus now btw)
The Yokos in that size dont (or should I say they didnt at the time) have the correct load rating for the rs4 ('W' iirc) but it was only just out by a few kgs per corner. Bear in mind you generally dont go around the track with 5 adult passengers and a boot full of crap which is what the recomended Z tyres have to be able cater for in road use ie. max possible loading weight....
IIRC The dunlops dj's do have the correct rating for the RS.
Horses for courses really, they are pretty much a muchness between them. Theres also the toyo 888's and Im sure if you haave a dig you will find a few more out there (didnt lucas run a set of cups on his last year at Spa??)
Thing I would probably be looking for most now between the 2 would be the tread wear index No.
The lower the number the softer they are and the quicker they will wear.
