ARB's

Can anyone point me towards someone who sells / makes ARB's for the B5 RS4.
K & W, Eibach do not - I think it's only H & R who do.
Sizes would help as well.
Thanks,
R.

Hi Chubby,
I've got the H & R one's, and from the sound of it, that's the ARB of choice for most people on here. Got mine off Philip Walker, a 246 trader.
There are two sizes; 32mm & 17mm, & 32mm & 21mm. I've gone for the thicker one's and I have them on the hardest setting (there are two settings on each bar) and I'm very happy with them.

Rich, Eibach do make a rear bar (they actually produce the GmBH bar for the RS4) and I know Awesome offer a Neuspeed one (popular in the US for the S4), but as others have said, the H&R stuff is excellent.
The rear bar has two stiffness settings, it can cause the plastic drop links to rub on the rear driveshafts when on the stiffer setting - this was the case on my car using the thinner 17mm rear bar. - one of the drop links snapped mid-corner!

the stiffer setting on the rear moves the droplinks further away from the driveshaft - must have been the weaker settings?

Thanks for clearing that up Doug.

How much are the H&R ARBs?
How much to fit them?
Which sizes are best?
Do they improve track handling?
How are they on the road?

How much are the H&R ARBs?
Around £300
How much to fit them?
I paid £90.
Which sizes are best?
Personal choice, but I have the thicker 21mm rear bar.
Do they improve track handling?
Don't know yet, won't know until Castle Combe in October.
How are they on the road?
Excellent.
IMHO of course. HTH.

The [H+R] ARB's make quite a difference - I've not had mine on track, frankly I dont need to in order to tell you that they make a big difference over the stock setup - (TBH, I'm not sure of the sizes on mine)
They do keep the car a lot flatter in hard cornering (I also have Koni dampers as an upgrade and they help as well - compared to the OE 60k mile stuff that came off anyway!) and the setup (difference between thickness/rigidity of front and rear) is such that a good amount of the natural understeer is neutralised - which is a bonus as it did have a tendency to try and run off over a hedge now and again in stock trim....
IMO - worth every penny and probably *pound-for-pound* the thing that's made the biggest difference to the handling of the car

Thanks to both of you, thats good to hear. Next question.
Is it worth changing suspension bushes? If so, are stock ones OK?
I have quattro gmbh suspnsion at the moment.

I have standard suspension and bushes so I wouldn't be able to answer that one. I did replace the rear droplinks when I did the ARB's though.
Do you find the gmbh setup as harsh as some say it is?

I have never experienced the standard set up so I don't know. It is harsh but I guess that goes with being a sports car.
