hardened rim do buckle

Post by itaplikeabiatch » Tue Jul 10, 2007 6:00 am

after feeling steering wheel vibrations for a few weeks now, i thought it was a slow leak in the front tyres.

i went to my tyre guy to get it checked out and he told me i had a bent rim. and these are the hard rims and not the soft ones (i've already had them replaced).

so who else has had this problem with the hardened rims bending? and what was the result from your audi dealer?

Any wheel will bend if hit too hard - law of physics I'm afraid.

You have to avoid pot holes, speed bumps and curbs - as you cannot prove that the wheel has bent due to a manufacturing defect I would imagine that your Dealer will say - Sorry but there's nothing we can do.

I'm afraid its a fact of life - same as getting a punture in your best new tyre.

Are they still under the 2 yr Audi warranty? If there's no visible rim damage, then you should be able to get it replaced?
