In response to a reader's letter about a performance tow car to replace chaps Subaru, Evo suggested a B5 RS4 (with usual negative comments about driver involvement  ) and they have used an often seen but still breathtaking pic of an Imola Yellow example taken from the front with its wheels turned. They also said £25k would be entry price for later models (01/02 (?)) which sounds about right I guess for average miles.

There is a yellow one used for PR purposes in the UK, can't recall if RHD or LHD but it was at Goodwood FOS and at AD International - think it odd as it has body coloured mirrors.

Here's one I took at 'ring in July 06 owned by a well dressed German couple.
Looks OK in germany in summer but here on a wet day on a Bham high street it wouldn't have the same effect.
If I squinted, i could convince myself that my S3 in the background was as special a car, needless to say that didn't work for long..

Read the article in EVO Andy, wasn't that negative to be honest. Looks good in yellow doesn't it. Maybe a bit in your face for me though.

No such thing as bad publicity they say and to see 'our' car get some coverage in such a well regarded magazine is no bad thing Simon
About time Evo did a proper feature on the RS4 with a buyers guide etc.
They did one when the E46 M3 hit £20k and for an RS4 to be a similar price is far more newsworthy IMHO..

In Germany it's OK to have an in yer face RS4 because the risks of someone pulling you out of it at traffic lights is a lot lower

The only imola RS4 I had seen was on this site on the main pic and it does not look great. That pic above is gorgeous. I have always loved the look of my S4 in Imola, but was never sure if the RS4 kit worked in Imola... that pic though sells it to me. Gorgeous :P

What's odd about that? Weren't body coloured mirrors an option - "Black pack" or something?

What I do find odd is that no-one as mentioned that you're not meant to fit a tow bar to am RS4, so how Evo can sing it's merits as a tow car confuses me a little....

I read same article. + i saw the one at Listers a few weeks ago, with privacy glass. looked really good.
Must say that I thought the same as Clived. The RS4 B5 did not have homolgation or type approval for towing / fitment of a tow bar.
I'm sure i can remeber a thread on here about this subject. Has Evo got their facts right??
