Hi All
Im more than likely to be a new owner next week and am considering a warranty of some kind.
My car is having a used car check at audi that would mean it qualifies for an Audi warranty - likely cost £1K I reckon - though warranties direct can do something similar or better for about £750.
What do people reckon? Worth it? or waste of time? Its a car with lots going on and although it has a massive service history all documented Im still concerned!

I have take a warranty out with Warranty Direct for £800
Havent got the actual detail, but from memory.....
Pros
I 'upgraded' it so that I can choose the garage (main dealer or specialist) of my choice, rather than them.
Also got the platinum cover, even though my car is just out of the mileage scope. 72K miles presently.
Covers 'consequential' damage, i.e. if something breaks and takes out something else, then everything is covered.
Got 13 months cover for price of 12
Cons
Claim limit is £5K,
There's an excess (cant remember of the top of my head)
In my case they only pay 80 or 90% of labour costs, & 100% of parts, due to mileage. They have a sliding scale of this depending on the mileage of your car.
They wont cover anything for the first three months, which covers them from repairing 'a pre-existing' fault.
Cheers

I've always had the Audi warranty (from Mondial). IMHO it is bullet proof. I've never had any qualms about any claim, the dealership handles the lot and argues the toss for me if necessary. The premium though last year was £1357. Over the alst two years I've had the following covered: Pair of turbos, Oil Cooler, Wiper linkages, Airbag module, MAF, Lambda probe...that's just the stuff I can recall.
I'm quite in favour of it cos it's so hassle free.
Will review the situation when the policy is up for renewal in July.
