weird problem....

for some strange reason, as of last night, on remote unlock / door opening, the interior lights dont turn on, and dash does not show door open/mileage (cant remember if it did before or not).
interior lights can be switched on manually at switches and all work fine...
Also if locking with key, it locks (centrally) fine and arms, but on unlocking with key, it doesnt unlock all doors only drivers and also doesnt un-arm...
Anyone got any ideas??

think it sounds like a problem i had, check (i think) fuse 30, in any case it's marked up as interior light on the lid of the fuse box. have the indicators stopped flashing on arm/disarm as well?

Do you have VAGCOM? Check for DTC (error codes)
Is your passenger footwell carpet damp?
The ECU for controling all of this is under the carpet and can get wet from a leaking Pollen filter housing to car body seal. I noticed my seal has perished and allowed some water in after a serious down pour we had in the summer. Nothing happened to the car and it all dried out fine with no drama. But by chance I read a technical article in Audi driver which explained this apparently common fault on both the A6 and A4s.
Of course it maybe nothing to do with this but as a matter of routine you should have a look around the pollen filter housing for the build up of excessive dirt and leaves which then allows water to get over the lip in the body and allows water down in through the heater blower.

Tied in with Golichs post, it might be worth checking in the right hand side of the boot where the alarm siren/central locking controller is housed. i've read previous posts about the well where it's located filling with water and drowning the unit.

Patrick, did you see my post about removing the bulkhead drain plug(s), as these are known to become blocked over the years?
