Hi there. Just wondering if anyone has come across the following problem. In heavy rain my RS4avant can get very noisy , particularly if you hit a deep puddle. Is it sucking in water or is it simply something to do with the exhaust?
I dont want to bend any rods so please help
(PS the car is bog standard.)

Thanks in anticipation

Mike

Same here. I sometimes get that symptom after a longer drive in very wet conditions. Then when I start to engine brake, there is the noise. Like the exhaust touching the body -which I suspect it does. Maybe wet causes the pipe to heat / cool unevenly, making for a bending effect in the exhaust. That causes it to touch the body? Don't know.

Has anyone else had this symptom, or better yet, solved it?

My car is stock and I do not have any problems with this type of noise in the wet. I have been told by my shop if I were to switch to an aftermarket exhaust I would get this gurgling noise when the car is driven in a heavy rain.

I had this before in a Rover Turbo, it turned out to be the flexi hose on the exhaust becoming water logged. Not sure what is between the flexi cross wires and the main exhaust.
