Just put my RS4 in to be serviced in Spain and have been advised an engine mount is broken. Anyone had similiar problems or could shed some light on implications and costs? Thanks Yan

Which engine mount there are at least 3. That's not including the two that attach to the gearbox. So you could say 5 in total between the engine/gearbox.

The two gearbox ones are a doddle to replace and a simple construction so shouldn't cost the earth. The very front one requires removal of the front end to access it. I suspect the two remaining engine mountings which are very close to the front end would also require the front off the car or a fair bit of faffing around to get them out.

Steve - I thought your were near £1K to have all your mounts replaced?

I wouldn't rely on a DTS doing much to be honest. Now that I have one. I don't think it makes much difference. With hindsight I don't think its a very clever idea. Its a beam running in the wrong direction for any real strength and would you really want it to be that strong Hhhmm??

its better that you test them for us first. they might increase knock sensor values or make the car othervice very noisy.

what kind of pricerange are we talking about?

smurfbus: I don't know, i could test them for you guys! :)

I guess it's like 350euro for 2-3 mounts...
But it's still under constractions! :)
