hi all,

2 questions - why do some cars have black roof bars while others have the chrome ones - was it an option???

Also does anyone have any photos of discs that are worn out?? I ask because I had a look at a car the other day and i thought the discs were worn but the seller insisted they were not - all the discs had a lip and on the front i estimate it was about 1 or 1.5 mm

Yep, it was called the Black Optic Package

Black Optic Package = Roofrails, Ornamental vignettes on roof, and window cavity anodised in quartz

Mine has the black roof bars. It was a no cost option, and was combined with black interior door handles and darker aluminium quartz anodised window trims.

The black interior door handles are std on all RS4's BTW

Re the brake discs.
If they have worn showing a 1.5mm lip on the outer edge, the other side of the disc will have worn a similar amount.
So 3mm from the 32mm they were when new, I think takes you close to the limit. As they are £218+vat ea from you dealer plus pads at £152+vat worth a haggle.
