Used RS4 prices dilemma

I am about to take the plunge into RS4 ownership and am now actively looking for a car.
I can't believe the price difference (£8k) between a 21,000 mile model and a 60,000 mile car both with similar spec. Is this normal or am I missing something? These are private sales BTW and not from dealers.
I am after a X or Y reg RS4, less than 60,000 miles with BOSE, heated leather seats, and preferably Sat Nav / TV but this is not essential. As I mentioned above the prices are between £20k > £28,950. I am at a loss as to why there is such a huge gap in price. Is it people being greedy or is this really what these 6yr old cars are worth?

Welcome to the site,
I've seen a few low mile late examples advertised at £30k plus.

Can't believe that they are selling at those levels though. Think anything over £28k for these cars now is unrealistic, regardless of mileage.
I would also say that a 60k mile RS4 at £20k should probably be avoided as this is a little too cheap, and is probably reflected in the overall condition, history, etc.
IMO, you should be looking to pay between £22k and £26k for a 40'000-60'000 mile example in excellent condition.
BTW, BOSE and heated seats came as standard. Sat-Nav and Sunroof will probably command a £1k premium over those without, but again it really comes down to condition and verifiable history etc.
Hope you find the right car, then the fun really begins!
Paul.

I am in the same position and asking the same questions.
There seems to be a belief on this forum that you can't buy a good RS4 for £20k or less, which I suspect is because members don't like the thought that their cars are not worth as much as they would like.
If you can find a good car for £20k then you may have found a good deal and not necesarily a pile of poo.
I am talking to sellers at the moment and there are some seemingly good value cars out there.

Dont forget that they need disks, pads and cam belt changes every 40k miles, if you are looking at cars with 60-70k miles you will not have to long to wait till 80k miles, then you have some serious bills to fork out for £1,500+...
In January I bought an immaculate 2 owner, Avus Silver with Silver silk Nappa (fave colour combo), has all the usual extras like sunroof, with 83k miles on the dial and previous owner had just spent £3k with Audi only 3 months prior (disks, pads, belts and tyres), drives like its only got 30k on the clock.
IMHO milleages on this type of car can mean little as usually most have been owned by enthusiasts who REALLY look after and pamper their cars, personally I think general condition, a complete audi service history and colour/spec is most important.
Oh, nearly forgot, it cost me £22,950 and had been serviced by Audi 2 months previously...
Happy hunting.
stuart.

There maybe some truth in this, but from my experiences, the sellers idea of excellent condition/mint can vary greatly from mine

View the 'cheaper' ones, as they may be a genuine bargain, but
usually the price reflects the condition .....
Just my 2p's worth

As mentioned before purchace price is just one of the things to consider, buying one that will need tyres brakes and a larger service not too mention by now exhaust etc could quickly turn what looked like a bargain into a dear car.I never shy away from high mileage cars if well maintained and cared for just be aware that turbos dont last forever and are 3k plus and the gearbox about the same,it would be well worth getting a full printout to see what the car has had done, its hard work sifting through all the cars but worth it when you get a good one,Happy hunting

I'm selling a high milage(98k) car at the moment and it's in good condition and cheep(ish)
Just because it's cheep doesn't mean that it's a pile of sh!t, I'm selling it because I have two RS4's and 4 other S/RS cars and no room.
BTW hope this post is ok, it's not ment to be an advertisment for the car, if it shouldn't be here then please feel free to remove MOD's
