Warranty direct
Warranty direct
Hi first post so here goes.
Has anyone had any dealings with warrantees direct? I am thinking of covering my car with this company. They cover most major parts turbos etc up to £5000 on any one claim and covers 100% ware and tear up to 60000 miles. I have been quoted £790 for year 5 cover, which looks good value.
I know that £5000 wont go all the way to covering a major breakdown but it will cover most of the bigger bills.
Any feedback would be good

RE: Warranty direct
My concern was the £5k ceiling so I went Mondial

All good questions and explained in the small print of policy ( i hope) but yes the perameters change over time. Circa 1500 big ones for 2001 plate cover for year. What price peace of mind. It wont take long to run up 5k on parts and labour these days if something did go POP. Not a risk i'm willing to take. I'm a classic insurance junky!

I was going to go for the WD warranty, but like Harry, was put off by the £5k limits. I was also concerned about certain exclusions in the policy such as not including for any oil leaks that didn't require removal of the engine. I didn't like the way that the policy listed out all covered parts and anything not specifically mentioned wasn't covered.....
In the end I went for a RAC Gold warranty which has very few (listed) exclusions and the limit is up to the value of the car. This cost £470. The downsides of this warranty are that it doesn't cover wear and tear and the maximum labour rate is £40 /hour.
HTH,
Paul.

My car is a September 2001 so also will be in year 5 this year. I would be grateful if you would give me the contact details for Mondial so I can get a quote.
Tried a quote from the RAC. Max claim is £3,000 which won’t go far but the quote was cheap.
I would have probably gone with Audi if I hadn’t have been quoted £300 for a pre warranty inspection which I feel is a bit steep!!! Then they want another £1,200 ish on top if they feel the cars up to scratch.
I don't mind splashing out the £1200 if the covers good but why should i pay £300 for the privilege.

Afaik you cant buy from Mondial direct but only a Mondial policy through Audi hence the inspection if the car has been out of warranty for some time.
I could be wrong though and it wont be the first time.
Jon was your policy to cover an RS4? If so I'd be curious to know why I paid more than you. I know the prices had just increased prior to my purchase but £300??? I thought prices were fixed to engine size.

I had a WD policy on my S4, I figured 5k was going to cover the cost of most eventualities, plus it covered exhaust manifolds & brake calipers, something which a lot of them don't. I did make a few claims, suspension related, wheel bearings etc. All paid up with out any problems, I'm now looking at them again but I've gone over 80k miles so they don't pay 100% of the claim..

Yes it was for my RS4, but I bought it in June last year - Audi couldn't offer a further extended year (when the car turned 4 years old, so for the 5th year) 'cause of the FSA regulations changing.harry wrote:Jon was your policy to cover an RS4?
