Boost lack : 0.5b(7.25psi) instead of 1.2b (17.40psi) on RS4

Post by Froggyfreddy » Mon Mar 13, 2006 1:28 pm

I was surprised by the feeling of a lack of pressure on my new RS4, so i took the pressure with a gauge.

Has somebody already been confronted to this kind of problem on S4 or RS4 biturbo?

No doubt 3 issues :
- CHECK ENGINE that put the system in safety control and reduce to 0.5bars (7.25psi)
- Leak in the pressure system
- one turbo out

Thanks to help

Bloody Hell! This is bizarre! The last time I was on I mentioned about this that some of you guys might have boost leaks and not know (this happened to me) I was reading 0.5 constant and didn't think anything of it until I had a re-map and it was still at 0.5. If it's lack of boost the first thing you should check is that all hoses are connected (also at DV's) as a hose could be leaking or even slipped off, it's as simple as that!

Has your car gone into Limp mode?

If it has, I would doubt it was a leak!!!

have u had the codes checked with VAG-COM..that will give u the sort of info u mite need..could be a MAF sensor or EGT sensor,s or like u say a poss boost leak..where about are u and look in the VAG/DTC section in the sticky and see if a member is close so u can meet and get it checked out..then your,ll no what way to turn.. :redrs4:

I did change the dump valves and did erase faults, i had 14psi instead of 20 psi (as it has been remapped) and the system came into fault .

I 've got 0.5bas back :(

The error fault is :

"mélange (air/petrol admixture) too poor"
