What a Load of <beep>

Post by Tomson » Thu Dec 29, 2005 1:01 pm

My sons 4th birthday today, so for a treat he is allowed top come and clean the car with his old man (what a lucky lad I hear you say)

Anyway some c**t has hit the RS4 whilst parking, not on one door, but inbetween the front and rear door on the passenger side, on the swage line, but not before hitting the front wheel as well.

The paint is cracked and both doors are shagged. The paint on the newly painted wheels are also wankered.

Happy Fecking Birthday.

Need to get an estimate, as direct line will cherge excess @ £250.00 and I will lose 2 years no claims which would increase my premium by 15%. I reckon about a £80.00 increase - so £350.00 would be the damage there.

I am furious, no sign of the culprit but when neighbours return later I will question them one by one and take torches to their cars. I have flakes of metallic green paint so should be able to get a match.

But the real wanker is that I have yet again been saving for my Downpipes and CATS to be installed and an MRC remap. If you remember last time I sold my Motorbike to pay for the 'Stage 3' only to find my Cam chains and Tensioners needed replaceing along with a cam Gasket - bye bye to stage 3. Since then I have been saving hard again and last week the clutch went on the van and this week some arsehole hits the car. Rain = Pores etc etc..

Ah well maybe someone is trying to tell me something. Maybe 420bhp should be enough.

Tits and balls

Sorry to hear that. The first time i read the text i had this image in my mind of you confronting the neighbours with an Oxy-acetalyne (spelling?) torch :FIREdevil: but i don't think that is what you meant. Shouldn't give you ideas either....

Hope you find the culprit. :bash:

What a nightmare!

I now that your ragging at the moment (understandbly) but just make sure first before you start on the neighbours! you dont want them falling out with you.

I just remember something similar happening and I was so angry that I was just about blaming everyone in the street!

I have bits of paint collected frpm the side of my car (please excuse spelling, have been celebarti g sons birthday with vod\ka and friends) Anyway it looks like a metallic green or dark grey colour. Have serached street but so far have found nothing trhat works. Funnily enough me an Mrs were in bed this morning and heard a car outside for ages that then disappeared, probebly the arse who relised whT THEY HAD done ans then drove off....... wankers.

Of to insurandce company in the morning, top spray shop wgere I had my coirrado (show car) sprayed they know how to 'work' the insurance so hopefully everrything will be ok./

i will report back tomorrow I am sure the whole side of the car will need to be sprayed, the problem is that the other side will need to be done too as the rear wheel arch is pepperewd on bpoth sides, so it will be so obviouious car has been re-sprayed if only the one side is done.

Anyhow, off to bed,

Cheers all.................................

Yup :assflash:

I get paranoid about leaving the car pretty much anywhere. I know I should not as it does not help enjoy the car. If in a car park I will always try to park on a far side were there are loads of empty spaces. If I am forced to park near, and providing its not too busy I tend to park tight to one side so no-one else can fit in next to me. Selfish attitude I know, but its eventualities like Tomsons' that really piss me off.
Its just pure inconsideration people opening doors and having little parking knocks and just driving off

And that too is usually the way; as soon as you have saved/come into an amount of cash its the time something goes wrong with the car........ :(
Hope you get it sorted satisfactorily

Bloody hell Tomson, you have got to have the worst luck going with your RS. So sorry to hear that.

Does anyone on your street have CCTV that could have caught the car, or even some adjacent streets that might have picked this car up either before or after - worth talking to the Police to get the council CCTV units checked?

I hope you get the fecker.

Tom, when I lived in a street in London, (I moved to the middle of 80 acres of NOTHING for precisely this reason) I bought one of these:

http://www.iviewcameras.co.uk/Voltek_Wi ... sdeals.htm

It works a treat, and had one occasion when a lovely lady in a 4x4 decided to nudge my car along a bit so she should park conveniently to buy another fu*king hat or something. I invited her in to have a look at her 'skills', her face was a picture. It records directly to VHS when it picks up movement, so I had it fixed on the car 24/7. If you get one I'd advise an extra infa red illuminator, as mine was too dark to pick up number plates. I just wish I'd had it when I had my wheels nicked....
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

So sorry to hear of your motor taking a bash mate.
What are the chances of getting the paint samples looked by a really good paint shop. I'm sure that I have heard that some can analyise the paint to determine the exact colour match, colour fade etc At least you would then have an idea of what type of car to be on the look out for.

I'm gutted for you mate. It is <beep> whens that happens to any car not just one as nice as yours..>!

B&Q or Homebase do cameras for £20 or so that plug directly into a scart socket, then you buy an 8hr vidoe and tape all night long - as I do. Or buy some software and a big hardisk and tape 24hrs a day directly onto your PC...!

I know mate... Have been looking into it - I like the idea of an wireless IP camera that can connect to my network. Although I believe there are some laws about having to have 50% of your house in the shot, otherwise footage is not worth a jot.

For the moment though the car is going to be mended next week. All approved by Direct Line without a hitch.

Will post some shots when she is done.
