Dave - My Mrs salutes at Magpies and does not cross on the stairs - drives me around the bend. Not completed any 'ring' laps as yet (unless PGR2 counts) TBH honest enjoyed the look of the sticker on the back of JR's old RS so much I thought I would just copy him.

Golfather - thats the one mate. Not the best modification for this time of year but one that in my opinion makes the rear of the car look so so much better. I struggle to understand why more car manufacturers do not find a way of hiding the bloody thing. Anyway - found a chap on eBay in Belgium who sold little glass discs to make the conversion look factory. It cost about £10.00. However - not as good as it looks in the photo. The Glass blank is made of a large circle of glass with a smaller balck circle glued on top of it at a certain distance. The idea is you siliconthe clear disc inside and then the black disc sits flush with the outside. Problem is that the black disc was not spaced far enough out so there is a little circle indent.

For the moment I will keep it on. Good news is it is easily reversible.

I am sure there is more than one of you asking .....why?

In a 120 mile round trip the other day, I needed my rear wiper numerous times, I rekon although it looks nice, you may regret it come the salt on the roads time.....................

Tomson
That looks superb mate !
First time I've seen a black RS that I actually like.
Back end looks so crisp clean and smooth, and with the privacy looks spot on.
I did the late A4 wiper mod which makes it look smoother, but doesn't look as clean as yours:

Glad to see someone else on this forum looking at aesthetics as well as performance :)

be prepared for losts of strange looks when people who've been to the Ring see the sticker and ask were you there.........

I'd go with Simon, I need my rear wiper to keep the rear screen clear so I can spot all the unmarked police cars that have appeared lately...... :D

Car looks really well though, fair play to you. 8)

Golfather, considering the aero wiper conversion for the front of the car. Eventually when I go for the re-spray I will de-lock the front handle and the boot lid. I might also at that time get a custom exhaust done that is completely hidden. Also by that time (a couple of years I think) my BBS splits will be in need of a refurb so will get the rioms polished, some bling gold nuts and the centers matched to the car colour and wind the H&R's down for the summer. Very Euro look.

VST, not really arsed about the strange looks, although I still have 4 laps to do that my brother bought me for my 30th. I see it as a constant reminder that the hard work will eventually pay off and soon I will be able to down tools and make the trip. Also at least it keeps the track firmly in my mind.

Simon - will make a habit of stopping every 50miles to lick the salt off the rear screen. That way I will have developed a healthy thirst by the time I get to the pub.

So the Gards have gone out and bought some more toys..... lets see if they last any longer than the Scoobys they got a few years ago.... judging by what I have seen, most of them should not be driving a Nissan Micra............ :assflash: :<beep>_you:

Looks clean, but it is nice to see behind as well (what is the car wanting a reality check :) )

A bit OT, but aesthetics-related:

Has anyone replaced the GPS/antenna with the newer car's "shark"-style GPS/Antenna? Is it possible? I'd be very interested if anyone has done research to this.
