Hiya,

Had two turbos replaced in February. Have an MTM stage I on the car. There was a bearing failure in one turbo so both were replaced under warranty by Audi - my Mondial warranty had expired and Audi were picking up the tabs in the meantime. I don't think the failure was due to the re-mapping as it was a bearing that gave out - there was no smoke or anything that would be indicative of excess wear due to higher presuures etc.

Have you got problems then?

no, my car is standard. just interested at this stage. I think I'll leave it as it is and invest some money improving my driving skills!

Might I suggest that you dont be tempted to drive a car that had been re-mapped then! There are plenty of posts on the site about re-mapping in general and trial re-maps (with Revo) and everybody prefers the remapped versions. I'd agree that driving skill is probably more important in getting the use out of a RS4. It'll not be long before you'll begin to think about an upgrade! Have you got a warrnty with your car?

I bought mine already re-mapped and then had a warranty put on it.

Think you may have asked the wrong question Craig, perhaps you should have phrased it 'Who hasn't blown......'

Seriously though, not many will want to answer your question in fear of the Audi internet police tracking them down for reimbersment of there warranty monies......Lets just say there are many walking wounded out there.

In my view you are completey right about investing the money elsewhere -

Brakes, arb's, suspenion, thats all you really need. Dont fall into the trap of trying to make it into something that it isn't and can never be (IMHO of course )

Go on be different - keep it standard(ish)!
