are they hard to get hold of, expensive & easy to change ?

Not sure if I've misunderstood you? You want the alloy colour roof bars in place of your black ones?
The black ones are the same alloy bars just coated black. You could remove and strip the coating and finish them in either polished or brushed effect.
The finishing is really easy even for a novice in either the polished or brushed matt effect. The potentially hard bit would be removing them. I've no experience of this, but it would obviously involve part removal of the roof lining to get at the bolts/nuts. This may require the removal of the plastic trim which covers the air curtains. I'd check with the local dealerships body shop first if this can be done safely and also without breaking the clips that hold the trim on.
Perhaps its worth seeing how much simple wants for his and experimenting on his set. If you don't know how easy it is to finish the alloy buy some aluminium flat bar or 3mm thick plate from B&Q etc. get some various grades of wet and dry. P120 for removing scratches and P800/P1000 for finishing. Always rub in the same direction and you'll have the brushed effect finish in no time. For the polished effect simply polish up with T-cut or any good cutting agent/metal polish. Again its surprising how little effort is required.
