Refurbishing original RS4 Alloys

Hi,

I would like to get my original RS4 alloys refurbished, ideally with the same factory original finish if that is possible but not essential.

Can anyone recommend anyone in the Reading area, either fixed or mobile, for alloy wheel refurbishing and also do you know if the original finsh can be reproduced or would I have to settle with a finish that is similar.

Thanks.

Andy

Finish can be identical seen it done without any difficulties. You should be able to get most local wheel refurbishment outfit to do that work

The OEM finish will not be reproduced exactly (meaning integrity and durability), however the colour can indeed be matched. The RS4 alloys are particularly difficult to address if you are a perfectionist. For those who have seen the OEM finish matched exactly I would be interested to know who can do that ! :?:

If you are going for a complete refurbishment of the alloy (eg: blasted/stripped down to metal/diamond cut and then repainted/lacqured), you will have a uniform finish and there are countless number of suppliers who can do that very well (eg: Pristine alloys [probably the best], Wicked Wheels, Spit and Polish etc etc). In Reading Shadow 2000 (Commercial Road, nr Aston Martin & Jaguar garages) area are agents for Pristine Alloys who will take the alloy refurb and return the item to you but it takes a few days.

However, if you are looking for a supplier to match areas of damage (kerbing) whilst retaining as much OEM finish as possible then you need a skilled practitioner of which there are only a few around who can truly do an effective job that will last the test of time. PM me and I'll provide you a recommendation from experience who is the best I have come across, who is mobile and performs the work whilst the alloy is on the car if its the front face of the alloy that's damaged.

Like a true saddo I provided a test alloy to several companies to demonstrate their work and no-one has matched his work. I only ever use this guy on my cars

As a rule, due the superior integrity of the OEM finish try and retain as much of that as possible

Good luck.....

Hey you're just getting overly keen on driving that car fast now that you have the fancy AP brakes

As far as straightening the alloys, I think Spit and Polish have the capability to perform precisely that. Contact andnik (01252 849755) via his details in the classifieds, as when I met up with him he was going to get an alloy reshaped by Spit n Polish so might be able to offer his experience

Just had mine done by ProTyre in Bristol. They outsource them (not sure who to) but they did a faultless job - the wheels look fabulous, and I'm very picky. Not cheap though at around £100 a wheel...

Worth it though if you are happy....just remember a soft alloy at Audi's stupid prices comes in at in excess of £500 (retail) :audibash:, about half that to the dealership, I think
