POSSIBLE STOLEN CAR

Hi
I got a letter today from London Transport telling me that at 2.30pm
last monday I was photographed in a bus lane. (Chiswick High Road).
with 2 photographs to prove it.
Sure enough noggy blue RS4 with my plate on it.
I live in Aberdeen and have never had the car in London.
I know it is not my car. (I was able to prove it)
I know mine is the legal one.
So who's is it, who has lost their car, anyone on here?
Contact me if it is yours, I'll tell you the reg on it.
Cheers Tom

Be prepared for shed loads of Congestion Charge notices coming through your letter box. I know of people who have been plagued with this sort of thing on legit cars (sold but new owners failed to register at DVLA). Costs have run into hundreds with Solictors Fees etc. Wonder whether it would be a good idea to log this incident with your local boyz in blue as a means to cover your ar*e?
Might bne an idea to post the reg on the site so that if anyone sees it whilst on the journeys they can report it?

slippery, can you please have a read of the sticky thread at the top of the RS4 group regarding the RS4 register, and PM me your car details.
The register currently has details for 18 Noggy blue RS4's (including my own).
The register may not help you in this instance, but it is this sort of thing that it could help with if it had everybody's car details.
I also agree, tell your local coppers, show them the letters you've received, maybe even contact the dvla to see if they have issued a duplicate registration document.
As for posting the registration on here, it is a good idea. You may wish to not post the full reg ('*' out the numbers or something), but with the number of people on this forum you may just get lucky with a sighting.
Good luck mate, and I look forward to receiving your PM
Cheers,

John.

Have seen a Noggy Blue RS4 couple of times in Putney (anyone on here?)
If you post the first part of the plate, will keep an eye out for it...

That'll probably be John Blade's car.

Recognise that plate, one of our lot on here used to own it didn't they?
I expect it's been cloned due to seeing the advert in Autotrader/Pistoneheads etc.
So, there's a stolen noggy RS4 in London then? I'll keep me eyes peeled and call the old bill whilst following it!
Hope you get this sorted mate,
Ben

The car might not actually be stolen....merely some toe-rag who has used a reg plate off a Noggy RS4 in order to avoid parking fines/congestion charges etc and generally evade the old bill.
As you know, any tickets for whatever offence will be logged against that reg number so could lead to the real vehicle and owner being collared by the old bill and cars being impounded. Best try to get the problem logged with the police asap.

Hi
Thanks for all the advice.
I have been told by the police that the car is wanted for many offences.
(not all motoring).
I will be speaking to the officer in charge of the case tonight and find
out more.
Cheers Tom.

Youd have to be extremely stupid to drive a legit car on false plates, I could understand it on a £50 Escort but not a £30k car!
I'd keep on top of this chap, if anyone can remember Dean from sport3/asn/tsn days, he sold one of his S3's to a chap who never registered it in his name and Dean had months and months of tickets and bayliffs.
Cheers
Ben
