Sad day yesterday as I handed over the keys, but 18 months of reasonably trouble free ownership ended. Car never let me down, could have had a few less visits to the dealers, but on the whole it was excellent.

Trying to find something to replace the car with was impossible. Sounds silly, but I now appreciate other members comments along the same lines!

I will certainly miss the sound of the Milltek and the sheer punch of that engine, coupled with comfort, quality, and classic Q-car looks.

Time to move onwards so M3 CSL it is, slightly different idea to the RS I admit, but it's rare, quick and reasonably practical (!), also no tuning potential really so there shouln't be any warranty issues :D

All the best guys and thanks for all the help and great advice over the last couple of years,

BTW, if anyone is thinking of selling their car to the trade, Listers Worcester were by far the most helpful and offered the strongest price. Steve Poole was the contact there.

I know exactly what you mean, I've had my rs4 for just over 2 yrs now and would have traditionally be changing it last month. Thing is though for what?? For me, it still has the exclusivity, still has the looks and I use it every day for what it was designed as, an estate car for lugging crap and getting me to my customers and then back to work in the shortest possible time :wink:.

So in the end I decided to keep it at least another year and have bought myself a S2 Exige. :rocker:

Snot good news mate.

Odo is showing 15,000 miles and I am on set number five (six if you count the Yoko AVS as well!)

At Croft last year during one spirited day I went through a set. People running KW suspension set ups with up to three degrees of negative camber dialled into the front end claim that this will double the life of Cups - BUT - at the expense of on road refinement. If I step up the track days next year Pete, then I will definitely have the KW conversion done. Michelins' piss take on pricing is becoming less and less amusing!

Cheers Gav, glad you concur. Never has spending many many thousands on a car been so difficult! 5 years ago, I would have had a list as long as my arm!
Exige eh? What a cracking piece of kit. Saw the 240R thing in Evo and I'd be more than happy with one of those :D

Well, as long as I stay off the track I should be fine with the CSL running costs.

Now, where do I sign up for Snetterton? :P

After serching for a RS4 and not being in the right place at the right time, i found one and after a test drive the Kids informed me they had more room in the back of a M3!!

I ended up with a csl and to make it more family frendly i have re-fitted the factory centre seat belt and recoverd the plasitc bits with alcantara so i now have a five seat csl even the boot is bigger than the normal M3 !! not as versitile as a RS4 but the best option for me at the moment.

Still wonder what it would have been like to have owned an RS4 though, some of the test drives were impressive especialy one mad Avus silver one. Still check the adds out of habbit.

yes that was mine - I remember the weekend well! All Kids should be banned from test drives! :)

As i said in my previous post, i am realy impressed with the csl , but there is something about the RS4 .

In an ideal world both would be nice one for the summer one for the winter !!!!!

Sure you will enjoy the CSL as I did for 6 months. Makes a great sound and handling is fantastic. Back in Porkerland for me!!
