partnumbers RS6 Brakes on RS4
partnumbers RS6 Brakes on RS4
Due to much private messages regarding the topic (RS6 brakes on RS4) about partnumber request and mounting instructions:
Mounting RS6 8 cilinder-calliper in stead of RS4 calliper (standard) can be done WITHOUT modification.
The original RS4 disc doesn't need to be changed!
After mounting the RS6 calliper, the brake-pads of the RS6 can on course be easily mounted.
Only one thing:
to make the job right, the best thing to do is to change the original brake-hose (don't know if this the right word in Englisch) in STAHLFLEX-hoses and also to change brake-fluid in the racing-flued which can handle a much higher temperature.
However, the brake hoses don't need to be replaced. The difference is that the original hoses come out of the calliper in a 90 degrees angle. But in the RS6 callipers they come out in a 45 degrees angle. They can be "twisted"a bit, but not to far!
My RS4 is dated 11-2001. Please rectify that erverybody who want to do this brake-change has the same original brake-system as I had. I personally don't know if the braking system has changed during the production of the RS4!!!!! When it's hasn't changed during prodution 2000 - 2001 this is a super deal (MTM or ABT asks at least 4000 to 5000,- Euro for an 8 calliper system).
I don't know if prices differ a lot in the world, here in Holland you can buy the 3 needed parts for about 1500,-. I think it's a super deal.

RE: partnumbers RS6 Brakes on RS4
I've put a post on the S4 forum and to see if we can upgrade the S4 to Rs4 brakes, if that can be done then we can fit these no probs...I would suspect new parts are caliper carrier, discs and calipers...

RE: partnumbers RS6 Brakes on RS4
Hi there new to the site and dont pick up my RS4 till next Saturday.
I think what your trying to do sounds clever and complicated.
My next door neighbourgh works for AP Racing. They do a 6 pot set up for £1800 but he can get a 30% discount if anyones interested.
He says that there brakes are better than MOVIT's as the are stiffer and offer better peddle feel and less expensive Pads.
He also mention they have a rear brake upgrade as well.
Please email me if you are interested and i'll see what I can sort out in term of exact cost and availabilty.

RE: partnumbers RS6 Brakes on RS4
WellsyRS4. Thanks for your eagerness, but we have recently put in place a policy that all Group Buys be checked by the Crew. AP Racing are rarely keen to provide discount, and I would make sure that your neighbour can really source multiple kits at the discounted rate. Also, it would be useful to understand who would collect the moneys, and be responsible for delivery.
The statement that AP's are better than Movits is a little bold. There are good and bad experiences with both.

RE: partnumbers RS6 Brakes on RS4
Happy thousand posts to me,
happy thousand posts to me.
Happy thousand posts dear Gavin
Happy thousand posts to me.
So if the rs6 callipers fit the rs4 with no mods needed, do the discs fit also? I'm thinking out loud as the OEM uprated crossdrilled discs you can spec on the RS6 were never available in UK for the RS4. You can however oredr the crossdrilled discs for the 6 through the uk dealer network...
Welcome to the site Welly, and thanks for what seems like an amazing offer. Only one word of advise though if I may, and that would be to get your car and then sort yourself out with the AP deal before you start thinking about offering it to the world. Your next door neighbour may well be able to get a couple of kits out of the backdoor for you at a good reduction, but if he goes in one morning asking for 10+ sets ,then he may just get some rasied eyebrows from his bosses and the door could get closed...

I can see your points and understand were you are coming from.
I'll do a little more investigation as to how available and sure these kits are and how many can be would be authorised at the price - 30% for others that are interested.
Once I know I'll ask you chaps to sort a possible group buy.
My neighbourgh likes his job alot and probably made these comments of loyality to his employer.
sorry again chaps
