RS6 Brakes on a RS4 : I did it!!

Just been registered new on your site: Great site - congratiolations.
I just saw several topics about fitting the RS6 Brake System on a RS4.
Everywhere (as far as i saw) was mentioned this is not possible!
I don't know if anyone tried it before, but on my 2001 RS4 i've mounted the RS6 bracket, pads and the 8-piston calipers on the original RS4 Brake Disc.
And then I can tell you: IT REALLY BRAKES.
Perhaps this is old info on this site, forgive me. Like I said I'm new here and just sew a few topics.
For anyone who's interested and want partnumbers of photo's of this brake system, just let me know.
Greetings from Holland

Nice one, and welcome to the forum
Glad you managed it, and I am sure others members will be interested to see how you did it. only question I have is do you have to use 19" wheels or can these be fitted under the standard wheels?
Look forward to seeing and hearing more from you.

I've just made a photo of my braking system and as you can see you can mount it with the original alloys (18").

That is one mean looking RS4 you got there

Nice car, did you did any power mods? The suspension looks mean too

what is your set up?
Regarding the brakes, did the brake pedal feel/distance become much better or only the fade improved?

Thanks for these nice comments.
In advance I had a 350BHP S4 '98 from ABT.
As I sold it one month ago to a close friend, I started driving this RS4.
As the RS4 was completely standard it really was no competition for the S4.
Therefore I mounted a MTM Exhaust (from Cat's) en a K&N air filter.
I'm now waiting on the MTM downpipes with 100cpi Cat's to be mounted (are ordered).
Immediately after that MTM will put the "stufe 3" chip in (they will not do it until Cat's and downpipes are mounted).
About the braking system:
in comparisson with the S4 the RS4 brakes totally bad. After mounting the RS6 parts as i stated, everything seems to be different regarding braking! Just hit the brakes and try not to shut your nose at the steering wheel!!
Regard.
P.S. I've added a picture of my old S4; as you can see the suspension is little different.
These S/RS-cars are no ALL ROADS, are they?

The S4 looks very nice too, those wheels are suberb. When you had the exhaust and K&N filter from MTM, did you did the chip too, or just the exhaust/ K&n filter? Did you felt any big power improvment, meaning, did you smoke your friends S4 after those mods

?

As said before Herr Linke von MTM will not put the chip in before Cat's en Downpipes have been mounted.
After replacing the air filter and the exhaust you don't feel any difference in power.
Therefore,
I don't smoke my friend's S4 yet.......................
BUT I WILL IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS!!!

Very interested in the part numbers. Did you have to machine or shim anything?

yes, very interested... where did you source the RS6 calipers from and how much was the upgrade?
Just wondering how it compares to going with thirdparty makes.

Best regards,

Jochie,
Looks awesome!
As you have previously owned an S4, can you advise whether these brakes will go on the B5 and/or if any modifications are needed?
I'm assuming that 18" wheels are needed (which I have).

If this modification is possible on the B5 S4, I really don't know. On my old S4 there was a Porsche-system.
