Extended Warranty after 5 years?

A few questions as I consider the purchase of a 2001 RS4.

Is an extended warranty available after 5 years and if so how much is it?

What is the limit to how long the warranty can be extended for (have heard 8 years somewhere) and does the cover reduce over time?

Thanks for your help!

you can not currently purchase extended warranty through audi as they have not sorted out problems due to financial services act, despite bmw, mercedes etc have all sorted this problem and can sell their warranties!
come on audi, get it sorted.

Phone Audi uk customer services, explain your warrenty is due too expire in May and you intend to purchase an additional warrenty from Audi when they are in a position to sell policys again.
They will take your details and place you on a list to be contacted once they have sorted their act out.
The car will effectively be under cover from that point.
Still no word on cost :(
Cheers fc
