Howmanyleft.co.uk states there were 508 RS4s licensed in the UK in 2005 (figures not available for SORN back then), that number shoots up to 1983 in 2006 but that will be the combined B5 and B7s.
http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/audi_rs4_quattro

If you look at how many are currently registered by engine size (to try and work out how many are B5s) there are only 422 licensed and 40 SORNed with an engine size of 2600cc to 2699cc.
Now, this figure will not be entriely accurate as there is apparently one diesel RS4 SORNed and a small number in the wrong engine size bracket.

The problem is that it shouldn't really be in the hands of an individual. We've had a few people create registers and then disappear.

I realise what you are saying, however it takes an individual to put the time in, and believe me I have done that!
I dread to think how many hours I have spent trawling through literally thousands of posts, threads, photos, adverts etc etc.
To give you an idea, the other day I searched for "B5 RS4" on flickr and spent hours and hours looking through 1800 results individually. All I gained from that was 2 more cars.

Years ago I did an extensive S2 Avant register on S2forum, I am still a member on there, but handed over the register to someone else to carry on as I was getting more and more involved in hunting for the RS4's.
Plus, Ive not seen any other forum or person get as far as I have with it, it seems that no one else is interested in maintaining one, so out of personal interest I started one myself, I love the challenge!
At some point I plan to create a standalone website (no forum included initially) with the register on, general B5 RS4 info and anything else of interest regarding these rare cars :)

As for howmanyleft.com, of course I have looked at that. I have it confirmed that there were 532 UK cars sold from someone who researched it for me that works at an Audi dealers.
I'm trying to get every car on the register, not just ones that are still on the road.
If they've been written off, broken or exported, they are still UK cars and in the future as they get rarer and rarer it will be interesting to see what happened to them.

All I ask is that if anyone has owned one (or currently does) in the past and has either a photo or can remember the reg (and any previous ones), please PM it to me or post it here and I will see if its already on the register.
I have already successfully been able to give owners photos of their cars from years before they owned them, or with different plates on from the past.

Thanks Simon.

As it stands I have identified 50 potential current owners on here (plus a further 10 who I know have sold cars on).
How many responses ?

FOUR !!!!!

If you don't want to give Reg or Chassis # then please simply '*' out the numbers in the reg and the last 4 numbers in the chassis #. The top part of the chassis # are all the same anyway.

The Info I'm after is as posted above.
To make it easier please specify the following too

SatNav+ (tv): Y/N
Sunroof: Y/N
interior trim: piano or carbon
ext black trim: Y/N
body colour mirrors: Y/N
autdip interior mirror: Y/N
leather colour or techno: black/silver/techno
curtain side airbags: Y/N
arm rest: Y/N

I think that was all the uk options...
If not please add them (I've not included alcantara wheel & knob - treating those as mods).

Remember that SOME info is better than NO info at all. So from that point of view I'd welcome details from ex owners too.

Currently I think I can account for 80 cars.

Btw, can anyone recall details of the writeoff posted earlier this week - the page has been removed now :|

I'll look forward to the deluge of PM's later on then... :boots:

Cheers,
John.
p.s. any chance of making this a sticky post ? (if you know what I mean)

I haven't read the six pages as this is a UK issue. Probably two things, this forum is effectively a no B5 RS4 zone in recent years. SRS seems to have all the RS4 action so you may be better off asking there. Australia has a number of ex UK imports by now but the owners aren't active on any forums I have visited recently. One import was writen off and parted out in late 2019 and an engine and gearbox was imported from UK in or around 2010. I have two spare gearboxes from ex UK cars 0478131FDP and 0478125FDP if that helps in identifying two cars that are no longer with us.

Largely our RS population is otherwise in use or stored in garages. No idea how you would get definitive on which cars are here.
