What would cause...

The rear wishbone bushes to split?
Had these(4 in total) replaced last march when the car was in for its first MOT.
Been advised that the bushes have split again and because the parts have failed in under 24 months Audi will do the work under warrenty :kissmyrings:

Anyone else have this problem and potential fix for it?
The car is in on Tue 1st march 2005 for second MOT.......be nice to be able to tell the mechanics how to fix it properly this time :assflash:

Hi frank mine had these done also maybe its common on them?they should last longer than that though surely? even with the power they have to handle.

Hi Rich,

Going to try and get a word with the lead tech on Tuesday about this,as its happened to a few other lads with RS4s and twice now on mine :?

How are you getting on with your RS4?
You are right about the M3s......no use in the bad weather.....great in the dry though.

Could well be Paul,i really try to make a point of either going over these speed bumps extra extra slowly or taking another route to avoid them.

The car is fantastic the dealership is shocking checking the levels before i came back to work revealed that they didnt change the oil as agreed!rang audi customer care on monday as im sick off chasing em after the tyres etc friday came with no responce so i rang again to find service manager should of rung on wed! see what monday brings eh,ive blown a fuse now,if i wasnt so happy with the car itself they would of had it returned by now its the worst service ive had ever!

Old UR quattros require wishbone bushes every couple of years, especially if you take them down lanes, unusal to hear of them failing so quickly on an RS, mine were replaced at 48K miles, and still fine at 65K this MOT...

Audi main agent not too far from you i will give em a few more days to come good and then post the whole sordid affair as this is only a small portion of whats gone on,other buyers need to know what they might be letting themselves in for.

Mine got swapped out at 23k and they discovered they packed in again at 33k.
Must try and grab a word with the head mech about this as i am pretty sure the car didnt feel 100% after they were first changed out.

Just a quick one on the off chance.
Bush failure
Would anyone still have the old messed up lower arms from the change they may have done on the Rs4.
Im after two rear lower arms with bush failure(As they are now no good) for my RS4 as mine are messed up also.
I will send them to get polly busnes made.
Any help apreciated.

Hi Gordon

As far as i know the garage is changing out the bushes only,i am going to ask to see the damaged ones to see the problem for myself and also to talk with the head mechanic about this matter repeating itself.
Not sure about the lower arms :?

Interestingly Specialist Cars Audi in Aberdeen said that the rear bushes on my car were needing replaced but when I took it for an MOT at a private garage they said there was a slight amount of cracking but nothing needing attention, MOT pass no problem. That was at 30k miles.

I know another local RS4 owner who has had these replaced after being told they were cracking, but id like to see the extent before I pay so make sure you see the damaged units on the car! Not that I dont trust them or anything!

Is there an after-market polybush kit for the RS4?

car is in for some new wheels at the moment, so what might ask them to check... would I notce whilst driving - what am I looking/listening for?

Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6
