Could anyone recommend a tip top bodyshop?
Currently going to use hurlingham coachworks in Fulham, but would like a second opinion. Distance not really an issue, but Aberdeen might be pushing it...
Thanks in advance

Bob, Hurlingham are tip-top, have no fear! I was recommended them by a fellow petrolhead who also has had nothing but good service from them. The only other local-ish shop I have used is Whites Wimbledon, who were rubbish
What you having done? The rogue door?
Steve
PS John, I would be interested in your man's details. I have the odd paint chip here and there which doesn't warrant a full bodyshop trip, and the words "cash only" might persuade me to get them seen to

Steve,
Paint shop is located just off Fulham Broadway and the man is called Tom (020 73869248)....speaks fluent english.Have had 2 front ends resprayed (chipping etc) and got a real good deal.Friends of mine (Bentley,993 Turbo,Range Rover etc) have had certain jobs done there and were all very happy with work / price.Recently had a front end of my previous 993 Turbo resprayed after a heavy track day....color match was immaculate.

John - Paintwork only, thanks for that contact seeing him tomorrow.
Steve - Will call Mark on Monday. Yup it's the Rogue door, but I also want a thorough check on every panel, as Kim Collins thinks there has been some more done it the past. I basically want to gather as much expert info as possible in case I take it up with the dealer. Maybe you could have a look at it for me!
Cheers

Hi Bob,
Just had the passenger door on my rs4 repaired and resprayed at Colborne's body shop on slyfield industrial estate in guildford.
Part of the big VDub dealer.
It's immaculate - did a great job and no issues with the refit, dooor hang etc.
Just down the A3 if you don't find anywhere

Thanks Pete/Steve, had a long chat with Mark at Hurlingham yesterday, and very happy with his diagnosis and price. He's doing a report FOC as ammo for me to go back to the dealer too. Essentially it's approx 500 quid including a complete cut and polish of the whole car, looking forward to the result. Had a Perhaps we should have a mini SW meet!

Pete,
Colbornes.
I have had bodywork taken care of by them in the past and was not impressed.
This was when their paint shop was located at Peasmarsh though.
Also the rear tailgate handle on my RS4 had a small corrosion bubble appear
(covered by warranty). I took the car to them as requested by Guildford Audi,
they took all the details, and then never called to book me in !!
Apparently they lost the booking form...
It has been fixed now, but I honestly don't think I would make them my first choice.
As always different people get differing experiences.
Bob, glad things are getting sorted.

Too true John. Maybe I got lucky, like anything with the RS4 always best with a specialist you can trust and the work I had was fairly trivial...

Yep, I have heard of quite a few with the bubble.
Think of it as a beauty spot
It took a bit of convincing them it was covered by the corrosion warranty though as
one chap tried to tell me it is a trim piece, so not covered.
He finally went and checked, and got the response that it is covered as it is painted body colour.
When they buy the new handle in it will therefore need to be painted to suit.
Its worth getting done Tom, while it is still covered, and before the bubble pops, as once that happens you cannot prove it was not a stone chip from the outside rather than corrosion from the inside.

Did it as soon as I got the car mate, along with the front bumper and both wings. I can't stand imperfections !
