Postive Thinking. HELP REQUIRED
Why is it that when you get a call from the garage it is always bad news ?
The story so far.
Car is being serviced at a specialist as we speak. Car keeps on texting me, which is nice - she obviously misses me. So this morning I returned the favour and decided to give the garage a call.
Now please don't take this as a knock on the garage in question as I have been too many, and they are easily one, if not the best.
Did the cambelt and service yesterday, and sorted the washer leak.
MOT today, and cam cover gasket (both I and garage believe this to be the cause of the oil leak)
Also getting misfire readings on bank 5 and the spark plug is in solid. Afraid that it might break off, so left it soaking in +gas and other removal sprays. If it does not come out or breaks will need to take the head off to remove it....
Apparenttly it is the difficult one to remove and many Audi garages do not bother. This plug could have been in there for ages !!!. I tend to agree with the garage and this theory on FASH antics, as the last service was only 10 months ago, and when jonp owned her it was serviced about every two months!!!!!!! You would have thought that mine were some of the easiest plugs to remove !!!
Bollox, Bugger, Bollox.
So what I need you to do is....
If you are reading this just say to yourself. I hope Tom's sparkplug comes out. The poor chap has had a rough time recently, would'nt it be nice if someone threw him a freeking bone !!
Many thanks for your support.

Do I need to close my eyes and click my heels too Tom ??
Does the RS have independent plug coils like the S3 does ?
If so it might be worth swapping that first to see if it helps, rather than risk breaking the plug.
Now if you think changing that plug is a mare you want to try changing a set on a 993
Book time is about 6 hours I think, and involves dropping the engine shrouding and the drivers side exhaust silencer...

elp to cheer you up ??

I'm saying it for you Tom.
Just to share my experience. In my previous S4 I had a local so called specialist change the plugs. 20K miles later I chose another specialist who after the service presented me with 5 plugs of the same type and one different. He told me the same story the 6th plug is so difficult to get at that some people get lazy and either break surrounding pipework or simply don't change it.
I never did get around to presenting their findings to the first so called specialist. I had already established my opinion of the garage as being a tad shoddy and didn't go back - this only confirmed it. He was a so called Porsche/German specialist. I wonder if its worth asking to see plugs, filters and the likes after a service. You hear of stories where folk have marked their old filters to see if they are being changed only to discover they are not.

No news yet, does that make it good or bad?
She texted me three times whilst I was at the gym to tell me she was breaking the pre-defined speed limit I put in. Good job it was only 30. So she is moving - but was pre-booked for MOT - So gives me no clues.
Nipping put for a while - update later.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT GUYS.

Good luck mate.
Sometimes you can cut them out...
I did that on my Mini, using a hacksaw blade - cut from the inside to the very edge of the thread
Also try letting the engine warm up first, it's amazing what effect a bit of heat can have.
Oh, and long time no speak, hope the new business is going well mate.

Golich, as a distrusting 'oil filter marker' type customer [God that was SOME argument with a dealer once about 'adjusting tappets' but without the rocker cover selloptape I put on being broken...], can you post/PM re the garage that couldnt be arsed to change the plug? I am thinking of using a certain specialist for my next service and would like to make an educated choice (or prob even change plug 5 myself - how are they counted on the V6 & are they platinum?)
Cheers.
