Or if you have a modified one that would be even better

ROTFLMAO, do you want to start tuning your RS4 by yourself????

Lol, do you know how to calculate/correct multipoint, CRC and 8-bit additive checksums???
IMHO, don't even try, if you have never done an ME7.x ECU before, try something else before blowing that nice ASJ/AZR motor up...
Do you have the slightest idea on how the ECU works on your car? And I mean your ME7.1 ECU, not a Motronic from an S2, which even my wife could tune...
If all the answers are "yes", I'll send you a stock RS4 file (after you've told me what ECU you have, there's been 4 different of them), I'd be curious to see what you'd do to it...

Mihnea

Nice to meet you as well.
There is a program out that does all the checksum calcs for the ME7.
I use a graphical program for altering the maps. They are alot easier to find and use than people think.
What I wanted to try is to use the S4 maps to create a patch for the 1.8t VW ME7 cars.

Hi Mihnea:
Could you please sent me the stock EEPROM file for RS4 K box ECU. My stock EEPROM was left in Sportec tuning house.
I am also learning how to remap EEPROM by using AlienTech. Of course I will not tune my RS4 myself... don't worry about that...
My e-mail address is
fangyeh@sparqnet.net
Many thanks
Vic

HTH,

I now have a chip file and I think I found the checksum locations(thanks for the 8bit tip).

Lol, the checksums are just the beginning of the fun. Now let's see what you do to the actual calibration data of the file itself. You can send me the file if you want me to check it out for you before you stick it in your ECU..
Cheers,
Mihnea

I had planned on working the maps into a 1.8t file thinking they would be similar to the S4 files(which are very similar to 1.8t).After the first look.Yeikes
